Reporting. Any member learning of a situation warranting a public alert notifies a Supervisor, Watch Commander, or Detective Bureau Supervisor as soon as practicable.

Supervisor duties. Makes required notifications (Chief of Police, Division Commander, PIO) and owns updates, cancellation, reports, and the after-action evaluation. The PIO handles all press releases and media inquiries.

Language (§ 334.12 / GC § 7299.7). During an emergency, provide public information in all languages jointly spoken by the local population.

Mutual aid (§ 334.7). High call volume may be routed to the Sheriff's Department; HBPD assigns a minimum of two detectives/officers to screen and relay incoming leads.
